Beaujolais Nouveau Events?

Does anyone know of any Beaujolais Nouveau events going on in Brooklyn this year?

  1. I think they are having something at Provence en Boite (Smith St.).

        1. By the way, the Dubouef BN is -garbage-. Just sayin'.

Larry, could you explain why you say the Georges Duboeuf BN is "garbage"? Just curious.

Each year the Duboeuf is slightly different, as are all the yields of Gamay grapes. Every year has different weather and soil, etc. etc, same as any grape. I buy it every year just to see if a $12 -massively- produced wine will be a standout. Sometimes it is. I don't recall the year but a few back it was notably good. This year, I'd say it has a nice nose and good color but not much beyond that. Way too dry for what I'd expect of BN and also a lingering mineralish acidity. Thats as good as I can review without getting into wine snob speak. I don't hate BN by default but I do look for other BN choices beyond Duboeuf.
