Takeout for sixty in Chinatown

I am familiar with many Chinatown restaurants. Are there any that would be especially good at handling an office-party (takeout for sixty)? Has anyone tried something like this with one of the Shanghai restaurants (Joe's, etc.)? Is this a fools errand, destined to create gallons of glop?

does catering at a cheap price. Its that place that gives you a mountain of rice, 4 dishes, and a really salty soup for $4. I would just beware what I'm ordering because some of the dishes I don't think are high quality, but it depends on what you order.

There's the place on Mott just north of Canal that is mainly a wedding hall. I forget the name, but friends who have been to functions there tell me the food was good. I wonder if they cater out. It's Hong Kong style, and I think you'd have better luck with large places of that style than Shanghai places.

I'm pretty sure the banquet hall on Mott just north of Canal is called Grand Harmony. It was just recently refurbished if we're talking about the same place. I've only been for dim sum, which was ordinary but good. Sorry I can't offer any more help to the OP.

You probably mean Grand Harmony, but there's another banquet hall across the street at 103 Mott. It's called Oriental Food (!) Haven't tried either of them but I've wanted to... so many restaurants to try!

I just know that Harmony is in the name. I was originally thinking Harmony House, which was never the name.

Isn't the place at 103 Mott St. called Oriental Palace Seafood? I ate there once and thought it was pretty good. (Of course with so many places to try in Chinatown, pretty good isn't enough to go back!) I remember the snap pea with steak cube dish was especially good.

He Win Lai (spelling) on Pell often does large parties in the restaurant- maybe they do take out.
