Hi, I am looking for a restaurant west village or hells kitchen that is not too expensive, preferably entrees not more than 15, any restaurant that is laid-back where I can hear my friend talk. not Japanese/CHinese/Indian or anything with a lot of seafood.

I highly recommend Ditch Plains. Look it up on the internet, not sure what the streets are; but it's easy to find (wish I could help more in terms of directions). I love that place, the staff is friendly, the food is fantastic and it's very reasonable!

The Place on 10th. Perfect for good food and conversation. They have a website.

Not to bash your post, but I just checked the prices of The Place on menupages, and the cheapest entrees are $19. This is assuming that the menu posted is even current, as I've (sadly) found out some aren't, and prices never go down. I've walked by and the place did look pretty cute and cozy.

I think the food is worth $20. They sometimes offer a prix fixe where you get 3 courses for that price.

Tavern on Jane. Reasonable, good food and fun.

Malatesta on Christopher/Washington - stick to the pastas and you'll be fine price wise. Cash only.
