need advice about Laurelwood in Portland

I am headed to Portland this weekend with my 3 year old and 8 year old. From my research into a good place to take the family to have dinner and sample good portland beers, I came up with the Laurelwood. But I am wondering which location would be better? We are staying downtown, so the NW location would be closer, but the Hollywood location may be better suited for the family?? We will be going late afternoon, early evening on Friday. So maybe driving out 84 to Hollywood should be avoided during rush hour?

Thanks!

The NW location will be fine for you. They have a playroom upstairs, just sit there.

Laurelwood is the closest thing to NW that is decent beer, food and family friendly. Avoid the 84 and just go over Burnside Bridge heading east. Veer left to get onto Sandy BLVD (somewhere after SE 11th or 12th), then up to 41st or 42nd where you can turn left.

Enjoy- the place will be filled with like minded folks and thier umpteen kids.
