We celebrated the Democratic congressional victory this morning by checking out Fritelli's Doughnuts in Beverly Hills, heralded on today's Daily Candy. As expected of the tony address the packaging emulates Boule's blue Tiffany style extravagance. Donuts average a buck, have a nice crunch and come in unusual flavors like latte and lemon glaze. It won't steer me away from my local Primo's (still the best in town) but it's nice to have a morning snack alternative in the "mid town" area. And wasn't that the owner of City Bakery ordering an apple cruller?

Well to quote myself, donuts are the fruits of democracy. (Personally, I am partial to Bob's chocolate glazed raised and crumb.)

Great find. I'll check it out.

I had such a great experience at this place. GREAT coffee and DELICIOUS donuts. I sampled the classic glazed, the green apple fritter and a boston creme. The fritter is wonderful with chunks of tart apple and quite crisp. The Boston Creme has the nicest subtle vanilla custard that outshines the cloyingly sweet vanilla pudding found in most donuts. And the standard by which to compare any donuts is a good classic glazed. Fritelli's is just how I like them. Soft melt in your mouth glaze and a light moist cake.

$1 dollar double shot espresso's. And I had a beutifully made Almond Latte (no syrups here) real flavors and an excellent Barista.

Give this place a try Chowhounds!
