  1. Atasca in Cambridge does a nice take, grilled with roasted peppers.

The Blue Room sometimes has them, but doesn't appear to on this autumn's menu.

Baraka Cafe often has them as a special.

    1. If you are looking to buy them to grill yourself etc, give Courthouse Seafood in Cambridge a call (617-876-6716). Its getting to the end of the season in Portugal so I think it might be too late, but in season they do carry them as well as coarse salt, etc. I believe they do also stock it frozen if you are in a pinch (Market Basket also from time to time, but not always).

ya I meant to cook with

      2. They often have them at New Deal seafood market on Cambridge St. in Cambridge -- closer to Cardinal Medeiros St. than Courthouse Seafood. There is also another seafood restaurant about a block away toward Inman on the other side of the st. I think, too. This strip caters to a lot of Portuguese shoppers and things like sardines are common. You can call first and find out. The young guy (carl maybe?) at New Deal is wonderful and usually very educational about the fish. It's often not labeled in the case so you can end up in interesting conversations by just asking about one of them.

        1. I was there on the weekend: New Deal had tons of fresh sardines and fresh anchovies. They looked great too.

At Courthouse they usually get them in on Thursdays and they will reserve them for you if you call. They said $5.99/lb. I expect New Deal would have them tomorrow, but they were busy when I passed by. Courthouse's number is above and New Deal is 617-876-8227.

Fernandes is the other fish market mentioned above. They have less overall seafood selection than the other two, although they have pre-fried fish and a pretty full portuguese market like Courthouse. I like them all...

Not certain what you are asking for with "solde fish."

oh sorry I meant sole fish

          2. I've seen them at Whole Foods too - both River St. and Fresh Pond.

If you get them at WF, don't let them clean them. Just have them scaled; otherwise, they take out all the good stuff....
