Pass the Pie Please!

Every Thanksgiving I love to bring home a pie from a NYC bakery for my family to enjoy. Last year, I chose the Sour Cream Apple Walnut Pie from the Little Pie Company and it was a HUGE hit. Everyone is begging me to bring it again...but I like to switch it up a bit. Any suggestions for a delicious/original pie to bring home for the holidays this year?

Sour Cream Walnut Apple from the Little Pie Co....lol
We get the same request every year. Anytime we bring something else we get sad faces. I would stick with it.

If not.....I don't know if it's nearby but you might want to try a pie from one of the stands at the Union Square Farmers Market.

I would stick with it but remember to preorder for Thanksgiving or you won't have pie. Hard to top that one.

I don't know if they changed their policy but I used to order for Thanksgiving and then pick it up that morning.

Not in Manhattan, but worth a trip if you like bean pie...

Yep, I'd be sad without a repeat of the sour cream apple walnut pie...but Two Little Red Hens makes great pies and Thanksgiving time is always madness, lines out the door, etc.

Their location in Manhattan is just off the corner of 86th and 2nd, I think (also located in Park Slope at 8th Ave. and 12th St.).

Balthazar is offering pies for the holidays -- both the traditional favorites and some twists on those. . .saw the list yesterday and it looked perfectly decadent.
