Traditional Thanksgiving near Middletown

Looks like we'll be in Middletown, CT visiting the college daughter for Thanskgiving. Any suggestions for a great, traditional holiday dinner? Price not an issue. We undertsand we may be too late to make reservations at some places, but would appreciate all recommendations. Thanks.

Gosh...I think Cheshire is nearby. Some time ago, I had good experiences at both the Watch Factory and the Victorian House restaurants there. I'm a Massachusetts native so hopefully some Nutmeg state folks will reply but it's a start anyway. Good luck!

Can you go down rt 9 to the shore? the Saybrook Point Inn and the Water's Edge Resort both do Thanksgiving. Also, I believe Avon Old Farms does as well.

There are a lot of great restaurants in the area, that dont require you to travel all the way to Cheshire or Saybrook. Here is the Middletown town website dining section: http://www.cityofmiddletown.com/Shopp...
Your daughter probably knows her way around the restaurants if she goes to college there as well. Your best bets are either: The Tavern at the Armory, at The Inn at Middletown 70 Main Street(860) 346-2288, or Harbor Park. Another option is Mama Rouxs restaurant in Cromwell, one town over, I believe they have done Thanksgiving Dinners in the past and their food is wonderful.

If all else fails, as your Hotel for options, I'm sure they can point you in the right direction. Good luck

You might also try Lupo's in Chester on Rte 154, or The Inn at Chester. Also for a real Old fashioned New England setting, The Griswold Inn in Essex is a great looking place with solid, American cooking.

Thanks for the thoughts. We will be staying at the Inn at Middletown, so the hotel's Tavern at the Armory may be the choice.
