Florentine Court Italian on Church near Richmond?

Anyone know anything about this place, I think officially called Florentine Court Dining Room? No windows to look inside, menu seems interesting enough..

Don't do it. For the love of all things Italian, don't do it.

I live down the street and have never seen anyone come in or out of this place!

I worked in the area for 8 years. Never saw a soul either. Amalfi up the street was similar in experience until recently. I kept thinking they were mafia joints given that NO ONE, as far as I could tell, was ever in there.

I ate lunch there about 5 years ago and it was one of the strangest restaurant experiences of my life. There was just two tables, including our threesome. The host and chef were odd, the food was lousy and the decor was claustrophobic and cluttered.

Cue the theme music from The Twilight Zone...

I guess I was there about FORTY years ago, say 1970, Fall...

It was standard Italian for Toronto, upscale. Waiters all had pompadours. and red waistcoats.

They specialized in veal (what else?) .....and a remarkably great, honestly made, TRIFLE. It was in a huge brandy glass -- they made one large trifle a day, and when it was gone, that was it -- zuppa inglese, of course.
