Great Beef Wellington?

I used to go to One if by Land for great beef wellington, but havent been in years. Anyone know if it is still good there? Or somewhere else that does it well?

try the beefwellington at Bobby Vans. I think it is on the restaurant's regular menu (and is offered as a frequent special in the Grill Room).

Definitely pricey at $48, but a real treat.

Tell you what - somewhat small portion (it's a "small plate"), but Stanton Social does a great job with Wellington. Along with most everything else.

LCB Brasserie Rachou has it sometimes - a special I think. Call and check. It was a competent version. Although, come to think of it, I bet they called it boeuf en croute.

I had already done a menupages food search. From the few restaurants serving Wellington, it looks like Dylan Prime might be the best. Anyway -- I will give it a shot (because, like most hounds, OIBL is not my choice for a food destination), and post a review later.

Most Hounds would never describe the food at OIBL as "awesome" though they might agree the ambiance is lovely. All the more unfortunate that the food is not better.

Beef Wellington is one of those dishes that was once ubiquitous but does not show up much on menus these days. You should try Menupages' Find-a-Food search function, which will enable you to discover any NYC restaurants, other than OIBL, that are currently serving it.
