I can't remember name of a mexican/cuban restaurant I went to a few years ago

The restaurant away for the coast (I was staying in Ft. Laudersale). The waitresses wore traditional mexican outfits and they had the best beans & rice and cuban sandwiches.

I remember we had to drive 30-45 mins to get to it...any suggestions?
Thanks for your help.

It might have been a chain. They had mexican food and cuban food. I remember we drove west from Ft. Lauderdale, then a bit south. The girls wore mexican peasant costumes.

At the intersection of US-1 and 163rd, there is a gas station on the SE corner and a large Marine Store just behind (south). The restaurant you might have visited is called Paquito's. Nice Mexi, waitstaff in the peasant tops and ruffled skirts... mariachi's too.

Try the tortilla soup, the chiles rellenos, the mole... all good. Nice chunky cilantro-y house-made salsa.

      1. Lila's?

I don't know about these's like the wanna-be bi-linguals that don't speak either language well!

I know of very few places that can pull off the dual concept if not both usually get short changed...having said that, Lila's is the only quasi good one in Broward that I know of. Your directions were vague at best...West then a little South from Ft Lauderdale? Do you remember what Blvd you began your journey from?

You want good Mexican go to Dona Raquels in Pompano Beach it doesn't get any more authentic. You want good Cuban - come down to Dade County and try Lario's on Ocean Drive in South Beach.
