Does anyone know where I can purchase this for making pastrami? Mortons has a curing salt, but it also has sugar in it...

  1. Try Napastyle online

    1. The Spice House has it. http://www.thespicehouse.com/product/...

      1. and...I've bought it at The Spice House: pink salt/prussia powder...aka sodium nitrite

not to be confused with long-curing sodium nitrate

Hi, folks, the local boards like Chicago are great for local sources for hard to find ingredients, but general discussion of what an ingredient is or what it's used for should take place on our General Chowhound Topics board ( http://www.chowhound.com/boards/show/27 ). If you're interested in knowing more about these products, please start a thread there and help keep the local boards focused.

        2. Allied Kenco has just about anything you'd need for pastrami making, including pink salt and quite a bit of information about it. "Everything but the Meat" they boast. I've had good luck buying from them online.
