OK I am enjoying one of my favorite cocktails right now, Negroni made with 1 1/2 shots Boodles, 1 shot Campari, 1 shot Cinzano rosso vermouth, 3 dashes Angostura bitters. The aroma assault brought the term "herb bomb" to mind.

Who has other fantastically aromatic, complex and bitter aperitifs to share?

Negronis are about as good as they get, but I don't think I've ever had one with bitters.

I had a Negroni variation that was quite good: substitue your 1 shot Campari for a 1/2 shot, and add a 1/2 shot of Cynar. It was garnished with an artichoke.

As I read the heading, I immediately thought of Cynar. Glad someone else besides me "gets it" but I've never tried it in a Negroni. Sounds fantastic!
Thanks!!
