for $40 where would you eat
Looking for a place where I can get a mid priced meal. Am in need of a good treat after a difficult week.
Parameters:
- downtown location is ideal
- something other than the usual (the usual for me is pan Asian, Greek, vegetarian)
- usually love places like Foccacia

I would probably do a meal at Dessert Trends. http://desserttrends.ca (Not a very good looking website. note to self... sell them a new website!
)The food looks great. The dessert is brilliant. (Mango Passion Tart remains my top favorite)
Check them out! -
I might try Pony (north side of College just west of Bathurst). You'd have to be a little careful to get out for $40, but I think it's possible with the prix fixe. And if you've had a tough week I can't imagine anywhere better - they're attentive & kind. I've NEVER had an unpleasant moment there.
Or, as deelicious said, Japango. Yum.

Go for an indian buffet. For about 12.00 you can eat all you want. Siddartha on queen and bathurst is great....but there are many others if you look there was a recent thread on this.

Bar menu at Trevor. Beef tartare tacos ($9), asiago mac-and-cheese ($9), nachos with braised beef cheeks, big salads (possibly on the restaurant menu, but you can order from either one), etc. Big flavours, small prices.
Terroni, Queen and Manning, Victoria and Richmond, Yonge and St. Clair. Awesome thin-crust pizzas with toppings you can really taste, great calamari salad.
Salad King, Gould, just east of Yonge. Best cheap Thai in town.
