Pizza in Jersey City

Does anyone have a recommendation for good pizza in downtown Jersey City? Stella's used to be my favorite (nice and greasy!) but there's new owners and the last pie I got was awful.

Esperanto's is decent but I know there's got to be better! Help!

  1. I'm a fan of Esperanto's for the Sicilian pie. For a slice, try Princess (in the mini mall with the Pathmark). I've also been meaning to try Helen's, on Newark...

Meanwhile, if anyone knows where I can get a decent, wood-oven thin crust pizza, please let me know.

    1. The best option for wood-oven thin crust is La Rustique in paulus hook. The only prob is that like most thin crust their pizza is best when it is piping hot and they dont really have space to sit (there might be one table during winter, and more when it is warm enough to eat outside). Still, it is definitely a quality product.

      1. I have to agree with La Rustique. I tried it a few times and it's pretty good. Last time we ordered from there the pie arrived with the cheese slid to one side and the bottom was burnt. We called and they immediately delivered a new pie. I was impressed with that (but also less impressed that they originally let a burnt-bottomed pie go out in the first place).

Strangely enough, they food dishes aren't so great. The eggplant parm is better at a number of cheaper places.
