Carbonara - East Village / LES

I will be having dinner tonight in this area, is there any place where I can get a fabulous dish of pasta carbonara?

Thanks everyone

Probably too late for you, but when I feel truly gluttonous I go for the carbonara at John's, and prepare to lie in bed for a week.

There's a great version at Enoteca Barbone on Ave B (and 12th?).

Otto serves a really tasty one with spot-on texture. May be a wait without (even with) res., but grab a spot at the bar for some drinks and their apps...homemade salumi, yum!

Absolutely agree - Otto's carbonara is peppery and terrific. Some people complain that the texture is too firm but I think it's perfect.
