Seascape Restaurant, Trinidad CA report w/ pics

After a weekend in Northwest Calif. we decided to eat here. We arrived at 4pm, and the menu outside said they serve lunch until 4pm. We lucked out because the dinner menu is way more expensive. Breakfast is served until 2pm.
Since it's near the pier it's probably good to eat seafood. We both started with a cup of clam chowder. It was thick and full of potatoes and some clams. It was just ok, we both finished it.
For entree I got a charbroiled cod sandwich and you get a choice of two sides. My sides were black bean salsa and potato salad. I didn't care for either of them. The cod sandwich was just ok, kinda bland. You can add your own mayo or mustard too.
A. got a cream cheese salmon sandwich and a side of fries. We shared our sandwich so I got to try his too. Nice toasted bread, too much cream cheese and whatever else they put in it, couldn't taste the salmon. Just ok.
We shared a blackberry pie ($3.95) a la mode ($2 more) that was pretty good. We both polished it up.
With tip and tax we got out of there for $40. It seems expensive, but cheaper than dinner. I've read elsewhere that breakfast is good here so I'd go back to try it if I was in the area again, plus there's a hiking trail that I'd like to do that's right nearby.

Yeah, I live in Eureka and have been to the Seascape a couple times, both for lunch. Not very impressed. Great location, next to the pier, but that's about it.
We ate there for dinner while going through on a marathon road trip. Only place in town open to eat. It was slammed, waited 1 hour or more to be seated. Lovely location, but food pretty average. Lots of fried seafood, just like we found in Crescent City.
