Moulard Duck Legs
Need to buy this Thursday or Friday, so USQ Greenmarket isn't an option. Who's got good 'uns, closer to Chelsea, the better.
Thanks!

The only manufacturer/distributor I can think of is D'Artagnan. They specialize in the Foie, of course, but I know they sell the breasts cryo'd as well and can't imagine that they're throwing the legs away, unless they're selling the meat already confited. I always get whole birds (and as a chef my experience is obviously somewhat different than retail shopping) but D'Artagnan has a retail presence as well, at places like Whole Foods, Citarella and Balducci's. I'm wondering, though... why specifically Moulard legs? The meat is pretty tough and stringy as it's basically a byproduct of foie production. Need a long slow braise or a confit.

Came across this website and decided to sign up. Our company specializes in all natural, free range Moulard Duck products. These include Fresh Duck Breasts, Smoked Duck Breast, Duck Confit, Fresh Duck Legs. There are two farms left in the USA that produce the Moulard Ducks in any sort of volume and Foie Gras. One is Hudson Valley (which D'Artagnan acquires their Foie from) and the other is our source which is located in Sullivan County. Our products are under the River & Glen brand. Our Moulard Ducks are fed a diet of 99% White Corn and 1% Soy. No additives, hormones or any preservatives are used at anytime.Let me know which city you are located in and I can point you towards the nearest retail outlet. Hope this helps.

D'Artagnan does have fresh legs listed in their catalog, I believe they are in New Jersey, call and see where you can buy retail in the city...
