Romantic BYO in Rittenhouse

michael Nov 1, 2006 03:58 PM

Looking for a nice date place for this Saturday. BYO in Rittenhouse. Romantic atmosphere, price not a big factor. Visited BYOPhilly.com. At this point I have reservations at Caffe Casta Diva. I've read a number of positive reviews of it here. No corkage fee is nice. Any other recs??? Thanks in advance!!

I'd stick with Caffe Casta Diva. If you're not completely stuffed walk up to 20th & Sansom and get Capogiro Gelato afterwards.

Does anyone know whether or not the menu for Caffe Casta Diva listed on philadelphia.menupages.com is accurate? Are the menus found here generally accurate?

WE went to Cafe Casta Diva last night and the menu was almost identical to the menu listed on philadelphia.menupages.com with the exception of butterfish substituted for salmon.

My husband and I are Boston chowhounds who were in Philadelphia this past weekend. We ate at Caffe Casta Diva on Saturday night and it was fantastic. He had duck, which was a special that night, and I had orrechiette with sausage. We shared an asparagus and white bean soup that was wonderful. Great bread too.

          I highly recommend it.

We love Caffe Casta Diva but it is very noisy and crowded on Saturday evenings. It is romantic but more so on other nights.

I think compared to most restaurants on a Saturday, Caffe Casta Diva is relatively quiet.

Our reservation was at 6:30 last Saturday night, and it was reasonably quiet. Plus we got a table by the window, so we only had people on one side.

I forgot to mention in my earlier post about the chocolate creme brulee that we had for dessert. It was to die for!!

Hmmm, have they put in some soundproofing in the past few months? We have been there twice on a Saturday evening and vowed never to go back on a Saturday. The last time was about six months ago. It was not only very loud but we felt totally cramped.

They once mentioned that they do most of their business on Saturdays and were pretty dead the rest of the week. It was delightful on other evenings.
