Quince - A Welcome Addition to the Yonge and Eglinton Scene

Went to Quince, a new restaurant about 2 1/2 blocks south of Eglinton on the west side of Yonge Street. Very cool interior, with exposed brick. Bar is in the back of the restaurant about 2 steps up from the main dining area. Menu is not huge, but covers all the different food groups. The really nice aspect of this menu is the prices. Most appetizers are under $10.00 and no main course is over $23.00. The portions are generous and the food is tasty. At our table we had a steak, scallops and quail for main courses and all were really good.

Probably not the place for an intimate dinner as it does get a bit noisy.

Service is very good for a restaurant open for less than a month.

Wine list is not huge but also is not over priced with several wines at about $35 or $40 which is not bad these days.

Definitely worth a try and I look forward to reading other opinions.

  1. I really likes Stork on the Roof, the chef/owners' previous restaurant, farther south on Yonge. The food was consistently good, and the service, always professional.

    1. Did you notice, by any chance, whether they're open for lunch or not? I miss SOTR so much and am dying to try the food at Quince! And unfortunately, lunch would be about the only time I could get up there.

They are thinking about opening for lunch during the holiday season. I don't know whether the final decision has been made but I suspect that you will be able to try them for lunch either later in November or December.
