DFW- Lunch near Market Hall

birddogfoodie Oct 31, 2006 01:06 AM

Going to be stuck at Market Hall for a few days for a trade show (a real baseball bat to the kidneys). Any recs for lunch? Cheap and quick please, if possible. Thanks!

Mama's Daughter Diner on Irving Blvd between Market Center and Wycliff. (Just west of I-35, maybe 5 minutes from Market Hall) HUGE portions of home cookin' at its best! Meatloaf is my favorite, and chicken fried steak is also great. Fresh veggies, too. And all sorts of pies with high meringue! The lunch crowd is very busy, and there's little parking, so go early or late to avoid the crowds. They are open for breakfast, too.

Original Market Diner is similar and very close - right around the corner
