Evelyns in Tiverton

I've passed by Evelyns in Tiverton thousands of times, but have never stopped in. Has anyone been there? what's it like? It it worth a try? If i go what would you recommend?

  1. clam cakes and fries!!!! don't bother with any "fancy" stuff like salads. their fried clams and clam cakes and chowder are really, really good. but esp. the clamcakes. i am a rhode islander born and raised but i never liked clam cakes until i had theirs. they're not just huge wads of dense dough with a rubbery thing hiding in the middle, they're actually tender and tasty.
they're fun too because they're on such a nice little spot by the river, so you can take your fries etc. and eat them as you watch the boats go out.

    1. I have been to Evelyns several times this summer. Didn't care for it at all. Each time was worse than the other...Was really optimistic after hearing about it on this board however in my opinion didn't live up to the hype. All of the fried food tasted the same, and whatever they use for for frying has a funny after taste. Can't beat the location though, however, parking is horrendous if they are busy. You get stuck parking on the street with not much space on the side of the road to park.
