simple place near MoMA to eat while reading a manuscript

I have 2 hours before a film tomorrow night at MoMA and need a place for a simple meal during which I can read a manuscript I am behind deadline on. So it needs to be a place that is well-lit (so not the MoMA bar itself) and not too boisterous. It would be nice to be able to sip a glass of wine during the meal or at the end as I linger over the manuscript.

I tend to prefer non-American cuisine (and don't want a coffee shop or deli) and especially like Japanese or Chinese. But I am open to all suggestions.

Thanks.

Menchanko Tei and Onigashima are both on 55th St. between 5th and 6th Aves. Love Menchanko tei's noodles and rice balls.

Dear Ichang, I don't know if you're checking replies to your post, but this was a great suggestion. I loved Menchanko -- tasty, cheap, nice decor, polite service. Thanks!
