Woody's hot dogs on Pratt Street in Hartford, CT

I had to post back on Woody's as I finally had a weekday off to head down there for a dog. I really liked everything about the place. One of the owner's took our orders and she was super nice (hollers at you "how's everything" while you're eating...hollers "come again soon" when you leave). I had the Reuben dog which was dressed with Thousand Island dressing, kraut and swiss. It was pretty tasty though there was a little too much of everything on the dog. I would gladly try any of their other doggie delights in the future.
I've had some good burgers and dogs there too. I don't remember which but I went there periodically when I worked across the street, sampled a good variety. I love that sorta mom-and-pop hole-in-the-wall burger and dog joint atmosphere. You know they don't stay in business for their looks or marketing, they're in business cuz the food is good, cheap, and consistent!
This is my new favorite place for lunch. I love the slaw dog - chili and cole slaw. Had the bacon cheeseburger to - very nice. We do take out sowe don't get the fries and onion rings piping hot - but even zapped in the microwave they aren't bad which leads me to believe thye must be very good "fresh"
Thanks for the info. Yes I saw in the Hartford Advocate's Best of magazine (last week) Rosco's won best hot dog again even though they're currently closed. I really love Roscos...their dog is fantastic dressed with just standard toppings (though the CC rider is phenomenal). Also try Saint's in Southington....best chili cheese dog ever!
