Where can I find great chocolate chip cookies? I've tried City Bakery, Bouley Bakery, Bouchon Bakery, and Almondine. I'll travel anywhere in Manhattan & Brooklyn to get some! Thank you for the recs!

I will probably get slammed for this, but none will be better than you can make in 20 minutes using the recipe on the back of any semi-sweet bag of chocolate chips.

I love Gimme Jimmys. It's a small bakery out of New Jersey that I have only seen @ the Kings Supermarkets, closet to Manhattan in lovely Ft Lee or Hoboken

You MUST try the chocolate chip cookie at Levain Bakery
167 W. 74th, between Amsterdam and Columbus, on the north side of the st.
        (Much closer to Amsterdam)
        Tel: 212-874-6080

It is a tiny bakery - a storefront basement level. Unbelievable cookies (and breads, and some other goodies)

The cookies are so good, you may just need to move to the neighborhood.

Sounds crazy but the Monster Cookies at Whole Foods are the best
