houston coffee shops?

Anyone know of any coffee shops that are good for studying in Houston? I've been going to Diedrich's on Westheimer but I hear it's closing. I'd like to support local places, if I knew where they were.

Empire Cafe is my coffee shop of choice, but I found it before Onion Creek. Both are good. Really I go to either. Just depends on where I'm headed in Houston.

There's a Diedrich's on Montrose just north of Richmond. Is that one closing too?

Empire Cafe is good, as is Brasil, which is nearby on Westheimer.

Just down the street from Diedrich's is Empire Cafe. I like to go there for a cup of tea and share a slice of cake with someone.

You might want to check out Onion Creek on White Oak in the Heights. While technically a coffee house, it offers a few more libations than those with caffeine.
