GNO (girls night out) Dinner

I need some strong opinions---I think I've come to the right spot.
I am having a girls night out with the Foodie Girls. I need opinions on a spot for superlative food where we can dress well and enjoy DC. I'm a former DC resident who has (blushingly) lost touch.

Opinions please....

Zaytinya, Poste, Rasika are the first three that come to mind. Can you give us more info on how many in your party and preferences to keep in mind?

Superlative food with well-dressed diners? Try Citronelle, Cityzen, Restaurant Eve Tasting Room, Maestro, Le Paradou. Superlative food with business casual dress? Try Komi, Black Salt, Makoto.

Dress up fancy with great food? Prime Rib on K Street. (You need not eat steak or prime rib; their crab imperial is superb.)

By dress well do you mean trendy/to-be-noticed or do you mean dressed formally for a fine-dining restaurant? If the former, ChocoHound's suggestions are good, I usually refer GNO groups to Zaytinya or Tallula (Arlington) for this purpose. I am not a big fan of either but everyone else seems to adore them, so this is indicative of my own poor taste.

Frankly, I dont understand the romance many people have with Tallulah's. I like the atmosphere and it does have a great wine list but the food is mediocre to OK for the price and I have never gotten good service there. I always feel like the wait staff could care less - have to ask for the desert menu -never offered it, etc... I would stick to that place for drinks only.
