Kulmbacher Eisbock- Whoa!

I had this beer last night and it was wonderful! I was a little apprehensive at first since it is 9.2% ABV and sometimes I can't handle the strong alcohol taste but not to be found here. Very nice, coffee and chocolate taste. Reminded me a little of the Brooklyn Chocolate Stout but with more flavors going on. And the story of how this beer was first to be made is kind of neat as well. Anyone else had a try?

  1. I haven't had that beer, but I didn't try the aventinus eisbock because I am very fond of their weizenbock. The eisbock was a little too much for me to handle, but I would definitely give another try. Eisbocks tend to have a more stronger concentrated flavour than most beers.

    1. I had the Eisbock from Aventinus also. Thought it was delicious. This was at Spike's in San Luis Obispo, about two years ago. Haven't had an opportunity to have it since, but I'd love to have another, and I'd like to try that Kulmbacher as well.
