Abigael's in Manhattan, any opinions?

Has anybody eaten here recently? Why is it open for a party on a Friday night?

There are many kosher restaurants open on Friday--one on the upper east side, one on the upper west side, several of them over the Simhat Torah period, several in Miami. It's weirder to me that more of them aren't.

It's called Shabbat, stuartlafonda, and yes, it is tasty.

Well aware of shabbat, I just prefer my food to be freshly prepared. Most of the kosher restaurants I have seen were closed from sun down Friday to sun down Saturday so I was surprised that a place would be open on Friday night. No need to get excited, I think most non kosher hounds would be surprised to learn that a kosher restaurant is open on Friday.

if it is open on friday night for a party I would susoect that everything was paid for in advance and cooked in advance.
