Fire at Montilio's Bakery, Quincy

Sounds like Montilio's Bakery on Adams Street in Quincy was pretty badly damaged earlier this morning by a two-alarm fire. Hopefully it wasn't a total loss.

  1. Not much news yet as to the damage, but fortunately no injuries. I've never been a big fan of Montilio's, but I loved Grahn's swedish bakery that was at that location prior. Get's me to wondering, does anyone know of any nice swedish bakeries on the south shore?

Grahn's bakery was always my preference even as a kid. My wedding cake came from there.
Is Swanson's bakery still in South Weymouth?

    2. Here's the report from the news:

"I don’t know how long it will take as far as rebuilding goes," Montilio said. "We'll probably try to find someplace temporary until then.

"It's not a total loss. The floor is marble, so the floor joists and beams are undamaged, and the showcases are still intact," he said.

Montilio said customers who have ordered cakes have nothing to worry about because his main bakery is in Brockton. The Quincy store bakes pizza, sandwiches and muffins.
