Berkeley Park Cafe turkey pesto

First time in this joint on Berkeley st between south end and back bay. Went based on mentions on the boards as an alternative to the back bay lunch dilemma.

Sandwiches seem pretty straightforward. Tried the turkey pesto. I'm not a sandwich expert but was very happy with the sandwich. Crusty french bread cut from the baguette, pesto with a sharp basil flavor, maybe some mayo in there, romaine, tomato, and maybe muenster. Solid sandwich. It's a low volume place so don't expect quick service right after noon. Good, low key vibe. Could easily spend a lunch hour there.

It's a little hole in the wall on Berkeley Street right near Chandler. It's been there for as long as I've lived in that neighborhood (about 5 years).

I swear that I've walked past it about 15 times and always thought it looked really cute, but it was never open. Correct me if I am wrong, but they must close at 6 or 7 most nights.

They also don't seem to be open much on weekends as they are always closed when I've gone by.

They tend to have slightly odd hours, but generally cater to the morning and lunch crowd. Some days they don't even stay open past 5pm.

Are they new? They have a grand total of zero pages on Google when I do a search for them.

NB the place is Berkeley *PERK* (like on Friends), not Park, that may be why you are not seeing any Google hits. 69 Berkley St. (between Chandler and Appleton), right next to the Fritz.
