Recs on Martha's Vineyard (specifically Edgartown)

Hi - My wife and I are headed to MV for our anniversary and would love your thoughts on chow-friendly spots. Anything from the best sandwiches to a romantic night out. I've searched and found some ideas, but most are for in-season recs. Since we're headed there in early December your suggestions may be different (fireplaces vs al fresco). Thanks in advance!

Thanks! I'll be sure to check these out and see if they'll be open in December. I'd heard of Lola's - sounds good.

    Anyone else?

I love the Newes too. David Ryan's is open year round (upstairs and down.) It s on North Water Street - not far from the Newes!

While most of my favorites are seasonal, I'm sure the Newes in Edgartown is year round. I don't seem to get past the appetizers though, because I want so many of them, I never have room for an entree! Stilletos are my favorite, these are soft breadsticks that have been toasted with garlic and are served with a bleu cheese spread!!
On the road between Edgartown and Oak Bluffs there is Lola's. You'll need to check to see if it will be open. They were always year-round but last winter they closed and put all of us in a tizzy!! They're known for their southern cooking, jambalya, mussels; crawfish and the like. If you're there on a Friday or Saturday night they generally have entertainment.
In Oak Bluffs a new mexican place opened up on Circuit Avenue called Sharky's Cantina. While it may not look like much, the food is sensational. I had a paella there that was chock full of homemade chorizo; shredded pork and rice and then topped with lobster and shrimp -- absolutely delicious!!
Off season is a great time to visit the Vineyard - Have a great time !!

Sharky's Paella was not tasty. Perhaps I got a bad batch but the seafood was rubbery and the dish was not seasoned well.
