Dry Farmed Tomatoes at Civic Center

jupiter Oct 25, 2006 09:35 PM

I don't shop at the Ferry Plaza market anymore, so i don't know if he is there, but the Dry Farmed Tomato guy told me that this sunday and then next wednesday were most likely the last weekend left for the dry farmed tomatoes.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up until he is back again next year.

I think you're referring to the guy from Two Dog Farm. That's what he told me on Sunday as well. I think his tomatoes are the best among any I've tried from various farmers' markets and upscale stores. He typically charges $2/lb. I believe the Civic Center market is the only one in the Bay Area that he sells at, though someone else might know of others.

      That's the one.
He is such a nice guy and by far he has the best tomatoes. It is amazing too, cause they are like pheremones or something, EVERY SINGLE time i buy bags of tomatoes from him and am walking back to work past all the street crashers in front of the old St. Frances theater, i inevitably get asked by someone for a tomato.
      EVERY time.
and it is only when i am carrying his tomatoes.
      they are like magic....
