For a local chain, Lazy Dog's not bad. We've had one in Huntington Beach for a couple of years now, and while it's certainly not haute cuisine, I've found it to serve good quality, interesting food, well above and beyond the Mimi's coffee shop fare.

agreed. very family friendly local hangout. i've had a birthday lunch there, and just brought my brother's family for dinner on Sunday. excellent prices. great selection of comfort food. fun decor (esp. if you're a dog owner). certainly a welcome addition to any neighborhood needing a new place to hang out. oh, and the bar selection is good too.
