Peruvian Corner Restaurant - 451 Meadow Street Waterbury CT

I stopped by on Saturday and I had the cauza de atun for $6. It was very good. They told me on the weekend they will offer several different specials which are listed on the board in the front. They are going to offer everything from aji de gallina to cuy(if you don’t know what cuy is you better ask before you order it). They even have Inca Cola, which is a Peruvian soda. Now, I LOVE Peruvian cuisine, but I never could get into their soda. Now chicha morada that is a drink that I recommend.

The waitress speaks English so don’t worry about that. It is within walking distance to the metro-north train station for those who don’t have a car or prefer to use public transportation, and it is in the shadow of the famous clock tower.

I also stopped by the Mexican grocery on South Main street, it’s called Los Arcos I think(my brain is failing me this Monday morning). I was there a while ago and they told me they were going to start serving food on the weekend. They put some tables in the back and a buffet is available on the weekend, they also told me snack food like tacos, tortas, etc.. will be available to order. I should have asked if they are going to offer tamales!!! The buffet had carne guisada , rice, and a soup(once again I forget what the soup was, sorry). I didn’t try it since I was in a hurry, but I will be back there sometime this fall.
