Monday Night Football - good food?

Gotta go out to dinner tomorrow night with a huge Giants fan, who probably doesn't want to miss the game.

Any places in LA (we both in BH) with good chow and a tv?

  1. If you want to stay in BH, there is Nic's Martini Lounge and McCormick & Schmick's.

      I'll second the McCormick & Schmick's rec.

The happy hour menu is prett darn good, and a decent bargain to boot.

      $1.95 burgers. Yum.

    2. You may be slumming it a bit, but brave the construction and head west on Santa Monica Blvd. (or easier, Olympic) and go to Philly West on the east side of Westwood, just south of SM Blvd, parking in the back. A bar with a half-dozen tables, but a nice bigscreen as well as other TVs. Very good and reasonably-priced Philly cheesesteaks. But their secret is their burger, char-grilled and oblong, served on the same rolls with grilled onions and other fixins. Not afraid to serve it pink and juicy and dripping...yum!

      1. eat. on sunset is showing the game on their big wall on the patio, and on teh tvs in the bar. I really like their lounge menu - mmmm, corndogs - and martinis, so I'd consider them. They'll also server their full restaurant menu in the bar or on teh patio, if you wanted a full meal.

        1. I don't think Nic's nor McCormick's has a tv. If either do it's one small one.

The bar in McCormicks (where happy hour happens) does have a tv -- not a giant one, but you can watch the game. It's cramped quarters though.

          2. Good food, watch T.V., & listen to the T.V. all at one spot?

Ruth's Chris has a front section with the bar on one side and several booths on the other. They have a T.V. over the Bar with the sound off (?) that you can watch from a "few" of those booths. When there last (3 to 4 years ago) the T.V. was a 27" to 21" tube. If you want one of those booths, call ASAP and/or show up when they open at 5:00 and hope.

            224 S. Beverly Dr.

            Plan B:
El Torito Grill - Wilshire & Camden - T.V., sound on ?, good food = No, you'd have to pick your way through a land mine laden menu. (310) 550-1599

Arnie Morton's - 435 La Cienega - 1 Tube T.V. Bar only, unless they've done something in 3 years, not easily viewable from the enire bar area. $$$$ (310) 246-1501
