My favorite is the Wappo Bar & Bistro, www.wappobar.com Excellent food in a quaint place. In the warm months we like to dine out on the patio under the wisteria vines.

We used to love Catahoula's, it has recently closed and now there is Stomp that has replaced it. Located in the Mt. View Hotel. I haven't been to Stomp yet, but would be interested in hearing opinions on those who have been there.

The All Seasons Cafe is also very good. I had one of the best burgers I've had in a long time last time we were there. Enjoy Calistoga! I'm considering taking my daughter there for her 16th BD for the mud baths at the Indian Springs Resort. www.indianspringscalistoga.com My story from my last stay is on their website. ***kim***

I second the wappo bar & all seasons... also at the wappo bar... try their lunch "taco" bar... It was called the "wappo taco" but I hear they are considering changing the name. they have lovely things there... sort of reminiscent of the food in "like water for chocolate"... palisades market has nice deli for al fresco dining.

calistoga inn has interesting house-brewed beer and decent food. although in my estimation it has been slipping in the past few years.

good martini's at hydro's.. their food is o.k. a bit overpriced if you ask me.. ditto for brannan's.

avoid bosco's and the mexican restaurant near the highway... both extremely mediocre... although the mexican place whips up a good margarita.
