Sunday brunch/lunch near Long Beach Airport?
We are meeting some people (group of 8 total) before my sister and her family fly out that afternoon (in 2 weeks). Anyone try the brunch at the Marriott? I would love any and all suggestions, chowhounds!

You won't be far from Pine ave and 2nd street (Belmont shore) eateries if you have some time both are kind of fun to stroll.
Pine Ave. I like Kings fish. Don't know if they have a brunch, my guess is yes:
100 W. Broadway Ave.
Long Beach, CA 90802
Tel. 562-432-7463There is a Roscoes Chick and waffles in Long beach on Broadway near downtown - i like sundays there. Good for larger groups.
If you want a few beers, I meet alot of airport bound friends a Joes Josts on Anaheim near Orange is just the place. Old school beer joint but a very family atmosphere, PBR on tap, pickled eggs, have a "special" home roaster peanuts. my second home
2803 East Anaheim Street
Long Beach, CA 90804 USA2 great Coffee shops.
Chucks near the olympic pool
4120 E Ocean Blvd
Long Beach, CA 90803
(562) 433-9317Potholder on Broadway. (better for larger groups)
3700 E Broadway
Long Beach, CA 90803
(562) 433-9305for adventure there are a many good pho shops on Anaheim between the 710 and Redondo. Also a great chinese place on Broadway and Cherry - Chens - Very good for larger groups, but tables great, cheap chinese food.
I mostly just drink and eat taco's on 2nd street, no good dining recs. there except a good Crepe place near Nieto and Supermex is always good mexican.
There is always the Queen Mary - I went to brunch there many, many moons ago but have not been back - it was a great brunch. Don't know about today though. QM has been through many, many owner changes and I don't know if they kept up with brunch.
All I know of the Marriot are a few breakfasts and some time at the sports bar. All of it was bad food and bad service. I could be wrong, thet could have been a fluke. but I would stay away.
Also a bunch of newer places - yardhouse, Outback, etc. near the new aquarium for the easy, sure thing.
let me know if you need further.
Good luck.
