impressive business dinner w/out price tag --UES/Mid East???

Taking a high-end lawyer to dinner that knows food,
but since Im footing the bill, at my own expense,
I would like to get out in the moderate category,
but impresive food???? Im more familiar w/downtown,
but he's a Sutton Place guy.

What about Etats-Unis? Always gets rave reviews and you can probably dine there for under $150.

Jubilee serves delicious mussels and fish and is very reasonably priced.

Pampano is on 49th St., b/t 2nd & 3rd Avs. We had a terrific dinner there during the summer. Delicious creative Mexican cuisine, excellent service, and very nice atmospherics. So, when my daughter needed a place to take some clients, I recommended it. Everyone raved.

Most people think of L'Impero as upscale, but I consider it to be on the lower end of that range. It's on Tudor City Pl., b/t 42nd & 43rd Sts. Wonderful food, good service, and lovely ambiance.

Had dinner at L'Impero and thought the $200+ bill pushes it to
somewhat out of moderate.

That may have been the case for you, but it is definitely possible to eat well there and spend quite a bit less.

La Mediterannee on Second (50-51) has a new chef and I hear it's now very good, moderate priced.
