Brewing beer, curing meat, or making cheese? Get great advice

Anyone cash in their 401(k) to dine at Masa yet?

I'm fairly profligate in my chow spending, but $350 per person pre-tax, -tip and -beverage seems a little nuts, even for me, so I've hesitated to take the plunge. Should I break out my water wings, or does raw fish only get so good? The only thing that makes the prices seem almost doable is the fact that you're saving a wad on your airfare to and from Tokyo.

Someone posted an eloquent review last month.

Great review, sounds like it's worth the price to me. Too bad I don't have $1,000 laying around!

I was taken as a birthday treat. A wonderful experience, but if you have a couple of (small) bottles of sake, a dinner for two is more like $1400 before you are out the door. Would I like to go again? Dreaming of it.

Yeah, I'm dreaming of someone taking me who wouldn't notice the price! Anything's possible...
