What is Your Favorite Olive Oil at Trader Joe's

I bought Trader Giotto's Extra Virgin Olive Oil and made some marinara sauce. It has an after taste I don't like. So, what is your own favorite olive oil at Trader Joe's.

  1. Kalamata. Only one of theirs I've really liked, with the exception of the white truffle infused olive oil.

I DO have the white truffle oil already (so who in their right mind could resist at that wonderful price?) but I'll buy some kalamata olive oil next time I'm at TJ's.

    2. Not specifically olive oil but I just had some of their white truffle oil drizzled on some lobster bisque. It was really *very* nice. I've had truffle oils that barely could be tasted. But this held up marvelously to a full-bodied soup.

      1. did you buy the truffle oil recently?
I understood it to be out of stock until later in the year . . .
I REALLY want to try it .

Not recently, they've been out for quite a while.

        2. Santini in the green square bottle

          1. Trader Giotto's Sicilian Seleccion Extra Virgin. Has a light, pleasant grassy taste and no aftertaste. We taste tested with the TJ Spanish Extra Virgin and found the Spanish oil had a decidedly bitter aftertaste.

The new organic spanish olive oil is great. Very fruity.
