Looking for input on The Verandah in Repulse Bay (Hong Kong)

In prep for our upcoming trip, I've been reading about the Sunday Brunch Buffet at The Verandah in Repulse Bay. We'll be arriving Saturday night after a 15 hour flight, and I thought that a relaxing out of the city place like that (followed by a stroll around Stanley to walk it off) might be a good way to ease into the trip before the serious shopping and siteseeing starts on Monday.

Any thoughts on The Verandah?

No rush necessary on a response.

I called them today for a reservation next Sunday, and they're fully booked. I guess some people like it.

Actually never been to the Verandah for a Sunday buffet. It is actually quite popular since many expats live on the South side and this is one of the closer place. My family do like the place but more for historical purpose than the food. Think the food is ok but the atmosphere is fantastic with a live band playing at night.

If you want to get out of the city, another choice would be Spices in the same location. It serves local cuisine from various Asian countries.
