Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in DC/Baltimore and Suburban Virginia

Columbia/HoCo shopping getting much better!

It's been a wasteland in the Columbia area for groceries forever. Aside from typical old-school stores, there weren't many options at all. Rumor has it that Wegman's is looking in the area and that Harris Teeter actually has a lease signed. Costco and Trader Joe's will be opening in the next year or so. What's more, I visited a new store that just opened last weekend called MOM's (My Organic Market). The produce was incredible and the prices were the best I've seen for organic groceries.

FINALLY some relief!

  1. Where is MOM's??

    1. Where is Trader Joe's going to be, and when?

      1. MOM's is located at the intersection of 175 and Rt. 1. Big store- looks bigger than a Trader Joe's. Has MUCH more selection and similar prices.

TJ's opens where 108 and 175 intersect in about a year. Costco will be in the same center.

        1. There has been a MOM's in College Park for many years. It's by the REI and really only a minute or two off the Beltway at the Rt. 1 exit. My wife loves MOM, they have great prices on a lot of the stuff she shops for (organic everything). In fact right now I am eating some of their mushrooms.
