good old roast LI Duckling

I am forever craving what used to be in every restaurant and is now a total obscurity...Good crisp roasted Long Island Duckling. None of that sliced, rare duckbreast for me. Does anyone know where in the city you can still get some good old LI Duck?

The Four Seasons is famous for their roast farmhouse duck, and with good reason. It's prepared for two, and carved at the table. They have a good deal on a pre-theatre menu whose choices include the duck.

Henry's End, in Brooklyn Heights. It's great.

Though it's been a while, the Confit de Canard at Les Halles was quite delicious.

Confit de Canard is not what DonaAFS is looking for. Confit is not made with the whole duck, just the leg and thigh, and more importantly, it is *preserved*, not roasted.

La Petite Auberge has had "Le Canard Roti a l'Orange" on their menu since forever. And, though I adore "magret" (rare duck breast), LPA's roast duck is one of my favorite things to order there.

Cosette also has roast duck on their menu. They do it with cherries. Yum!

Note: I have no idea if these ducks are from LI, but no matter. They're on the bone -- which is what you want -- and delish.
