Polish in Bay Ridge

I am absolutely craving pierogi. The only Polish restaurant I know of in my hood is Polonica-- are they any good? Specifically, how are the pierogi and blintzes? Anyone know any other places nearby?

TIA!

    1. My kids love the polish deli on the corner of 82nd (?) and 3rd. Lots to take out...

        1. Don't know of any in Bay Ridge but just a short trip over the bridge right near the ferry is a tiny little place called The Polish Place. We've been there a few times and always enjoyed the food. Here is a review I copied from the web.

          Best Perfect Pole- POLISH PLACE
Most Manhattan Polish cafés suffer from a need to resemble Greek diners in one respect or another, serving hamburgers and American breakfasts. Spawned by a wonderful grocery limited to Eastern European products, the POLISH PLACE also has an informal restaurant. Don't miss the blintzes and sausage-dotted lima bean soup.

            1. Not so long ago people were talking about places in Greenpoint, which has one of the larger Polish populations in NYC. Greenpoint isn't that far from The Ridge, no more then 20 minutes or so depending on traffic. I forgot if the discussion was about grocers or restaurants - search the board and you should find more.

I eat there regularly. Best Polish food in NYC.. nothing comes close from Boston to Chicago.
