Samurai Sushi in Maplewood

Anybody been? What did you think? I ate there for the first time last night and was pretty impressed -- it seems to me to be on the same level or a little higher as Ariyoshi in South Orange, which had been my favorite in the area. I had Chirashi, just delectable, and wasabi shumai which packed a pretty powerful punch. I was also glad to see they have bento lunches and katsu don, which is a big favorite of mine. Any other Japanese recommendations in the neighborhood?

I find the place average. It's ok but not really that authentic and variable in terms of freshness. OK for a neighborhood place I guess. I went also to a couple other sushi joints in Millburn (I can't remember the name, a new one next to the train station, Sakura?, and one in the downtown area) and both are also mediocre.

It's a solid suburban sushi option. The food is fresh and the service good. Nothing knocks your socks off, but it's all at least pretty good.
