chain variance

I JUST discovered the chain board. I'm secretly very excited. What's your opinion on chains that vary in quality from store to store. I've decided I really like it because it means out there, somewhere, there's the DQ whose owner really cares and puts out some pretty tasty food (actually, I found it, it's in Kittaning, PA). What do you think?

  1. it's funny how some chains vary a lot, others very little. For example, is there any waffle house anywhere that isn't exactly the same (even down to the employees?)

On the other hand, speaking of variance, if you are ever in the south and find a Hardee's in a small town, where it is the only fast food restaruant, it will undoubtedly be good. Woe to you, however, should you go to one in a larger town that has multiple fast food joints. May be a simple as an individual owner w/ pride in the place vs. corporate location, who knows? gave me an idea for a new thread! (I'll post above so as not to hijack this one)
