Looking for a good place for my birthday dinner

Hi chowhounds! I'm a new member and would love your opinions on a good place for dinner in Manhattan, moderately priced ($50/pp) to have about 6-7 friends for my 35th birthday. Looking for a fun atmosphere and good food- I like all kinds of cuisine so fire away!

Thanks in advance,

I've had good experiences at Kang Suh, both in terms of food and service. I'm not sure 6-7 is big enough for a private room. If you do reserve there, make sure to confirm, because once, they misheard the number of people I was reserving for (everything turned out fine).

I'd suggest Otto. good food, and a fun, festive atmosphere.

Thanks! I've been there and had forgotten about it. It's great!
