Breakfast on RT 81 S from Harrisburg PA to Williamsburg VA

We're heading to Williamsburg tomorrow morning and will be on RT 81 starting in Harrisburg...looking for a spot for a nice, reasonably priced, breakfast that's not too far off the highway.
Thanks in advance,

I am interested in knowing where you get off 15 to get to going to Williamsburgh and want to avoid the beltway...Will be going down 15....

    2. I'm not sure why you plan to go down 81, and can't help you with that route. However, if you choose the shorter route (down US 15) there is Barbara Fritchie in Frederick MD, as well as the two big buffets in Thurmont (Cozy and Mountain, both of which I assume offer breakfast). I think any of these would serve your needs; I'm not saying you'll get a gourmet breakfast at any of them, but you'll get a good breakfast.

Barbara Fritchie is on US 40 about 2-3 miles west of the exit from US 15.

If you use US 15, and are trying to avoid the DC beltway, you can stay on 15 to just south of I-66, then jog over on US 29 to US 17 and take that all the way to Newport News, then the Colonial Parkway to Williamsburgh. We've done it and prefer it to the more usual route via Richmond and I-64.

Thank you, JohnB. We stuck with RT81 because we were leaving early in the a.m. and would either get in rush hour traffic in Frederick and DC areas or if we went down 15 through VA, we would be sitting behind school buses. Rt 81 is more miles, but at that time of day, less time.

      2. Fay's Country Kitchen in Carlisle.
        Very close to an exit.
