Italian Steakhouse Recommendation in SF

My dad is coming to town for his bday this weekend and requested an Italian Steakhouse – I don’t typically do Italian restaurants so I am looking for some help. Would like good food, not too stuffy. Real Italian – not California Cuisine. While he is a young active 64, he’s not big into trendy. Thanks in advance.

    Search for "dimaggio" without the Joe.

      Thanks Robert - I have been a lurker on the board for a while and was hoping you would post! I was looking at Joe DiMaggio's but hadn't found a review.

        Original Joe's is the antithesis of stuffy and trendy. Maybe a little downscale for a birthday.

        The only other Italian steakhouses I can think of are Alfred's and the new Joe DiMaggio's.
